A Family Tradition in Bloom

For more than a century, flowers have been part of the Trias family story.

Our journey began in 1912, in Havana, Cuba, when our family patriarch, Pedro Trias, opened Casa Trias. What started as a neighborhood flower shop soon became a family way of life. Flowers were grown on the family farm outside Havana, brought into the shop, and turned into arrangements for life’s most meaningful moments—from celebrations to moments of remembrance.

Pedro’s grandson, Joaquin Trias, grew up surrounded by flowers. As a young boy, he spent his days in the shop and on the family farm, learning not only how flowers were grown but also how they were cared for. Roses, gladiolas, delphinium, and other flowers were cultivated with patience and pride. Even then, the family believed in making the most of what they had—spent flowers and stems from the shop were returned to the farm to enrich the soil.

Flowers were more than a business. They were part of the family.

Joaquin eventually came to the United States to attend high school, but returned to Cuba to continue the family business. In 1960, everything changed. Faced with an uncertain future, he made the difficult decision to leave his home and begin again.

He arrived in Miami with two suitcases and a determination to build something of his own.
Starting over was not easy. Joaquin found work in local flower shops, where his knowledge, creativity, and passion quickly became evident. He worked his way up, learning the business from the ground up and earning the trust of those around him. In 1963, he took the leap and opened Trias Flowers in Miami.

What began with long days, hard work, and a dream slowly became something much bigger.

Over the years, Trias Flowers grew, but the heart of the business remained the same: beautiful flowers, personal service, and treating every customer like family.

In 1990, the Trias family built the shop we know today—a place designed to carry the business into the next generation. Today, more than a century after Pedro first opened the doors of Casa Trias, the fourth generation of the family continues that tradition in Miami.

So much has changed over the years, but what matters most has not.

We still believe in the beauty of fresh flowers.
We still believe in doing things with care.
And we still believe that behind every order is a person, a story, and a moment worth making special.

From Havana to Miami, four generations later, our family is still doing what we love—bringing people together through flowers.
